Annotation of rs7079
Genotype TT is associated with increased response to benazepril in people with Hypertension as compared to genotypes GG + GT.
Patients with the TT genotype had a greater decrease in diastolic blood pressure between baseline and 3 years of treatment, compared to those with the GT or GG genotypes. Genotypes were analyzed in an exploratory group (n=733), a confirmatory group (n=714) and for the total population (n=1447). A significant result for systolic blood pressure was seen in the total population. Please note alleles have been complemented to the plus chromosomal strand.

Note: Alleles in PharmGKB are mapped to the positive chromosomal strand. Therefore, variants in genes on the "minus" strand (eg. VKORC1) are complemented in PharmGKB annotations.
