Genotype AA is associated with decreased dose-adjusted trough concentrations of tacrolimus in people with Kidney Transplantation as compared to genotypes AG + GG.
In patients who are CYP3A5 expressers (CYP3A5 *1/*1 or *1/*3). This variant is in strong linkage disequilibrium with rs846908 and rs4844880, and the AA-AA-AA haplotype for these three SNPs is also associated with decreased dose-adjusted trough concentrations of tacrolimus as compared to all other haplotypes (p=0.0367).
