Genotype GG is not associated with response to atenolol or irbesartan in people with Hypertension as compared to genotype AG.
No significant differences in the change in diastolic or systolic blood pressure after 3 months of treatment were seen between the genotypes. 43 patients were given atenolol and 43 were given irbesartan; these two drug cohorts were analyzed as separate groups.

Population description
Study Cohort: SILVHIA trial. Patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy. No p-value given only non-significance stated.
Note: Alleles in PharmGKB are mapped to the positive chromosomal strand. Therefore, variants in genes on the "minus" strand (eg. VKORC1) are complemented in PharmGKB annotations.
