Drug Label Download Help

This archive contains information about drug label annotations written by PharmGKB. It includes two summary tab-separated value (TSV) files grouped in two different ways.

drugLabels.tsv

This summary file lists one label annotation per line with the columns defined below

You can read more about Testing Level definitions at https://www.pharmgkb.org/page/drugLabelLegend.

  1. PharmGKB ID = Identifier assigned to this drug label by PharmGKB
  2. Name = Name assigned to the label by PharmGKB
  3. Source = The source that originally authored the label (e.g. FDA, EMA)
  4. Biomarker Flag = "On" if drug in this label appears on the FDA Biomarker list; "Off (Formerly On)" if the label was on the FDA Biomarker list at one time; "Off (Never On)" if the label was never listed on the FDA Biomarker list (to PharmGKB's knowledge)
  5. Testing Level = PGx testing level as annotated by PharmGKB based on definitions at https://www.pharmgkb.org/page/drugLabelLegend
  6. Has Dosing Info: The label provides a dose adjustment based on gene/protein/chromosomal variants or phenotypes (e.g. "poor metabolizers") and does not equivocate on that dose adjustment. The label may also state that a dose adjustment is "required" or "should be given". This tag is not used if the label only states that a dose adjustment "should be considered".
  7. Has Alternate Drug: The label states that a drug is either indicated or contraindicated for a particular set of patients based on gene/protein/chromosomal variants or phenotypes (e.g. "poor metabolizers"). The label may also use language stating that the drug "should be avoided" or "should not be used" in a particular set of patients. This tag is not used if the label only states that a drug "should be used with caution" or a different drug "should be considered" or is "recommended" in a particular set of patients.
  8. Cancer Genome: The label discusses a gene or variant present in a tumor/cancer cell

drugLabels.byGene.tsv

This summary TSV file lists one gene per line with all labels related to that gene grouped on that line.

  1. Gene ID = Identifier assigned to the gene by PharmGKB
  2. Gene Symbol = HGNC symbol for the gene
  3. Label IDs = A list of PharmGKB identifiers for labels that are related to this gene, comma-separated
  4. Label Names = A list of names for labels that are related to this gene, comma-separated
