University of Florida & Shands Personalized Medicine Program The goal of this study “is to build a system that is ready for wider clinical translation of pharmacogenetics and genetics findings into clinical practice. In the process of building this clinical translation program, we will also create a large genetics data repository that will support future research.”
1200 Patients Project: Studying the Implementation of Clinical Pharmacogenomic Testing The goal of this study is to “collect DNA samples from patients undergoing routine care at the University of Chicago and the samples will be tested for differences in genes that may suggest greater risk of side effects or chance of increased benefit from certain medications. The results will be made available to the patient's treating physician and the researchers will track whether or not this information is used in routine health care”.
Pharmacogenetics Testing Reference Materials Coordination Program The goal of this study is to develop a set of publicly available cell line based genomic DNA reference materials for pharmacogenetic testing. The genomic DNA samples will be characterized for relevant pharmacogenetic loci/SNPs through testing in multiple clinical genetic laboratories.
