CYP2C19 is one of the key pharmacogenes involved in implementation of pharmacogenomics.
- It is involved in guidelines for antidepressants, clopidogrel and voriconazole (go to list of all guidelines with CYP2C19).
- the nomenclature has been set by PharmVar, note that the reference sequence for CYP2C19 on hg38 is equivalent to CYP2C19*38 not CYP2C19*1.
- the AMP tier 1 alleles are CYP2C19*2, CYP2C19*3 and CYP2C19*17 see all alleles on the AMP recommended to test list
- key variant pages are rs4244285(part of *2), rs4986893(part of *3) and rs12248560(part of *17)
- See the Gene-specific Information Tables for Allele Definitions (for which variants comprise which star alleles), Allele function assignments (normal function, no function, decreased or increased function etc) and Diplotype-Phenotype Table (for how the alleles combine to form metabolizer phenotypes for PM, NM, UM)
