This element defines a potential splicing for a gene.

In general, there will only be one splice subelement per splice set as a splice is based on a single gene structure. However, multiple splices can be used to represent complicated intergenic splicing events that can result in chimeric RNAs. For example, chimeric RNAs have been observed containing combinations of exons originating from more than one of the CYP2C8, CYP2C18 and CYP2C19 genes.

Attributes

localId

A unique identifier for this element assigned by the submitter. The only rule it must follow is that no two XML elements can be assigned the same localId within a single XML document. See the FAQ for details.
