This element defines a sequencing assay. A sequencing assay is any assay that can detect more than one base pair. This element should only be used if the assay is not one of the predefined sequencing assay types (i.e. PCR assays).

The results of a sequencing assay are reported within a sequencingResult element. Please note that the interpretation of these results will depend on the value of this assay's referenceSequenceIsDefault subelement.

Attributes
pharmgkbId

A unique identifier assigned by the PharmGKB (the PharmGKB Accession Id). This attribute is used to refer to data that is already in the PharmGKB and is only supplied when editing or adding to such data. See the FAQ for details.

localId

A unique identifier for this element assigned by the submitter. The only rule it must follow is that no two XML elements can be assigned the same localId within a single XML document. See the FAQ for details.

Subelements
note

A note.

submitter

This element's submitter.

name

The name of this sequencing assay.

analyzedRegion

The region of the reference sequence analyzed by this assay.

referenceSequenceIsDefault

Flags whether the reference sequence is considered to be the wild type within the reported interrogatedRange of a sequencingResult for this assay:

  • true: If no variant is reported for a sample on which this assay was performed, the genotype for the sample within the interrogatedRange is the same as the reference sequence.
  • false: If no variant is reported for a sample on which this assay was performed, the genotype for the sample within the interrogatedRange is unknown.
Defaults to false.

method

The experimental method used to perform this assay.
