This element defines a set of samples.

Attributes

pharmgkbId	A unique identifier assigned by the PharmGKB (the PharmGKB Accession Id). This attribute is used to refer to data that is already in the PharmGKB and is only supplied when editing or adding to such data. See the FAQ for details.
localId	A unique identifier for this element assigned by the submitter. The only rule it must follow is that no two XML elements can be assigned the same localId within a single XML document. See the FAQ for details.

note	A note.
submitter	This element's submitter.
name	The name of this sample set.
sampleXref	A cross-reference to a sample. At least one cross-reference is required when defining a new sample set.
term	An ontology term (either GO or MeSH) that describes this sample set. For example, a MeSH term could indicate that this sample set contains samples from the liver or are cancer biopsy samples.
xref	A cross-reference to a resource with more information on this sample set.

Validation Rules

Content validation performed on this element:

The sample set must contain at least one sample.
All samples in a sample set that belong to subjects with an ethnicity with the same category defined by the submitter must have the same nihCategory. For example, if subject A is identified with a category of "Brazilian" and an nihCategory of "Hispanic or Latino" then subject B cannot be identified with a category of "Brazilian" and an nihCategory of "Not Hispanic or Latino."
